Description

One always wants more resolution, I usually with simple methods: A digital camera, format-filling with the use of my available teleconverters.

It was a good thing that the moon was still quite far away at the time, so that even at a focal length of almost 1600mm it still fit on the small FT sensor.
I took 3200 pictures with the fast continuous shooting function and hoped for good seeing during the 2-3 minutes.

At the time the moon was still 402,000 km away and it was also only 1.78 air masses because it was high in the sky.

In the end 3% of the 3200 frames were stacked with autostakkert and 1.5x drizzle. 343 AP (aligment points/areas during stacking) were spread over the moon.

The processing was relatively easy in PixInsight:
White balance with LF, Deconvolution, MLT and LHE.

The image shown is the original size at 1.5x drizzle.
