Description

Messier 100
Messier 100 is a grand design, intermediate spiral galaxy in the southern part of the Constellation Coma Berenices. Considered a starburst galaxy, it that has an apparent magnitude of 9.3 and contains over 400 billion stars. It is one of the brightest and largest galaxies in the Virgo Cluster and lies approximately 55 million light-years from Earth, with a diameter of 107,000 light years.
