Description

Here is my new take on M33, the Triangulum Galaxy, taken with my Vixen ED103S that now sits on my new NYX-101 mount from Pegasus Astro.  We finally have some nights that are not 1 million degrees and the clouds are starting to part again so all of us Phoenix astrophoto nuts can get out and have some fun.  I got the mount a little over a month ago but I've been very hard pressed to find a single evening that I could use it.  Past two nights have been great and I have both my RedCat51 setup and now my Vixen portable setups up and running outside.  On the Vixen I spent the past two evenings getting a nice run on M33.  I shot this about a year ago with my RedCat51.  That photo came out nice but I'm liking this one a whole lot more.  M33 has to be one of my favorites as far as galaxies go.  It is just the right size that a nice 700mm - 1000mm focal length telescope can show it very well and the angle of it is such that the detail in the arms and the core are quite fascinating.  I want to attack this again later as I can see with some variations even on my sub exposure lengths, as there are some subtle details across the entire galaxy that I would like to bring out even more but it's easy to see some are getting lost in over-exposures.  It is a very picturesque object and one I'm sure I'll image quite a few times.

Slowly getting the hang of the NYX-101 mount.  My gripes are that PA's are fairly more time consuming than my other mounts to acquire.  That being said, I can see, however, this is one of those things you just learn what the mount wants and you can get it to a reasonable so things work well.  My guiding is better and better every outing and I'm sure I can get it dialed in to where it needs to be.
