Description

The Northern Trifid Nebula is located in Perseus. Its apparent size is 12x8 archmin. It appears to consist of emission, reflection and dark nebula. Distance from Earth is estimated at 2 100 light years and its diameter is estimated at 3 light years.

The Nebula is small for my system. However I imaged it last year for one night and observed a lot of IFN in the vicinity which in my data showed up only as dark patches of space. My goal was to gather significant integration time in order to light the IFN. And with the captured material from three consecutive nights in the end of October, I think I managed to fulfill my goal.

Ivan
