Description

Having recently acquired a Samyang 135 mm lens to participate in the Astrobin All Sky Survey I took advantage of the wide 6 x 9 degree field of view to grab a snapshot of the centre of the Milky Way. As shown by the mouse-over annotations there's a lot going on in this region of the sky, with incredibly dense star clouds, dark nebulae and globular clusters galore.

The exact centre of the galaxy is located at RA 17h45m Dec -29d00m which is positioned close to the star 3 Oph at the top right of the image.
