Description

Merriam-Webster Dictionary describes the term «Cocoon» as follows:

Cocoon
Something suggesting a cocoon especially in providing protection or in producing isolation wrapped in a cocoon of blankets.
This aptly describes the Cocoon Nebula. It contains the newborn stars, as if protecting them. The Cocoon Nebula is considered one of many "star nurseries" because it is where new stars are born. The nebula is almost 15 light-years wide and is located 4,000 light-years away.

Cocoon is located at the end of a longish Dark Nebula known as Barnard 168.
