Description

This is an experimental image, but I thought I would post it anyway. People with dark skies will probably roll their eyes...

It always happens in January and February, that I am stuck finishing up some winter Milky Way objects with short refractors when the galaxy season sky appears. How do you make a 135mm focal length useful in early galaxy season? I usually just experiment with a target and end up with a 'throw - away' image.

I decided to try something crazy, and image the Integrated Flux Nebula around the M81 M82 area.... from Bortle 8.... with snow on the ground. (My northern skies may actually be Bortle 7. partying-face_1f973.png)
It is certainly not very strong in the image, but the shadow of my real target 'The Volcano Nebula' is definitely there! The best view is the inverted image.

Clear Skies
