Description

Here is my another attempt on this comet during a rare freezing cold night with first quarter moon in the sky.

I drove for 30 minutes to a Bortle 5 site for this photo.

Since I was in a rush, I did not prepare enough for this trip. I did not bring a wide-angle lens for me to locate the comet easily. This photo is cropped from a 135mm prime lens on Canon T5i camera.

The problem is this comet is still very faint (January 30, 2023). Absolutely it was not naked eye visible. Since I only had one 135mm lens with me, no wide-angle lens, no binoculars.... I can only "search" for this comet manually while it was sitting on a tracker.

It was frustrating as the view of the lens is very small, stellarium shows the position of the comet but in reality, it was not easy to locate it that evening.

After 1 full hour of searching in freezing cold temperature (-15C), I finally got it in the camera view.  I did not take darks. haha.

Camera: Canon T5i
Lens: Oshiro 135mm (f/4)
