First of my three Objects I managed to shot on my week on La Palma, Canary Islands, Spain. I'm super excited to share those, a dark sky is such a big step up in image quality, nothing can beat that. This is a mere 3.5h and you can already make out the IFN, faintly, but it's there. It wasn't the first Light for my new Skywatcher PDS 130, but the second light basically
I'm super happy with my light weight travel setup for Galaxy, insane image scale and Air travel approved.
If you think about going to La Palma for astrophotography - do it, it's totally worth it! The night sky is a marvelous sight and the nature is beautiful - so plenty of things to do during daylight as well. I'll be back next year!
Rough Workflow:
1. Stacked with APP
2. GraXpert (even though I'd argue it wasn't really necessary, Light Pollution there was non existent)
3. From now on, everything was done in PI: Background Neutralisation
4. SpectrophotometricColorCalibration
5. SCNR
6. NoiseXterminator
7. BlurXterminator
8. MultiscaleMedianTransform on Chromatic Noise with Mask
9. 4x Generalised Hyperbolic Stretch until I had everything how I wanted it
10. StarXterminator to do Stars and Galaxy seperately
11. On Galaxy: Curves Transformation on Luminance with Mask to boost Contrast slightly
12. On Galaxy: Color Saturation with Mask
12. With Galaxy masked: Another run of NoiseXterminator to smoothen the background carefully
13. Stars: Slight boost of Colors but less than the galaxy
14. Pixel Math to combine Starless and Star Layer
15. -> ruin image quality by converting it into a .png for uploading & done
