Description

Imaged Mars in OSC RGB and IR on the morning of October 18, 2020 with average seeing and transparency. Mars was showing a disc ~22 arcsecs in diameter at magnitude of -2.5. The prominent dark albedo feature to the south of the meridian is Mare Cimmerium.

Imaged with a C8 Evo, ZWO ADC, Baader IR 685nm pass filter, and ZWO ASI224MC. Imaging train was configured to give ~F/20. Image capture using Firecapture with gain set at 275 and an exposure of 3 ms. Stacking in AutoStakkert3 (best 10% of ~70000 frames captured over 240 seconds). Wavelet sharpening and conversion to black&white in Registax6. De-rotated and combined 3 images in Winjupos.
