Description

I know they are just areas of cold dust in space, but I can’t help but see cometary globules CG15 and CG16 as moving together on a journey. As with the other members of the CG catalog, they are pointed toward the Vela SNR, so perhaps that is the destination of their imaginary journey. These are faint, rarely imaged objects. One is is Puppis, the other in Carina, as the constellation boundary runs right between them. The emission nebulosity in the background is the outskirts of Gum 12.

I don't see any other close-up images of these two objects on astrobin, so this may be a semi-first for these two objects.
