Description

I was out to take pictures of Earthshine on the moon just after sunset and I figured I'd give the moon a more detailed look via a full disk shot via my Vixen ed70ss with reducer, which has proved to be a very easy setup for full disk imaging. I'm loving all of the detail this well-built and kind of hard to find portable APO doublet can pull, with a fairly small planetary camera attached to prime position off the back. Now I just need to get consistent more with color balancing afterward! I have even started just leaving the Star Adventurer out in the backyard in stretches of no rain, just so I can stick the Coronado PST on it then in the daytime.

I used a ZWO ASI462MC in Sharpcap to capture this with gain at 103, exposure 3.57s. Then through AS!3, I took 5% of the 2 minutes of data into some denoise, sharpening and balance routines.
