Description

After years of haphazardly shooting DSOs, I chose NGC6914 as my July 2023 new moon target for the contrast between the blue reflection nebulae and the surrounding red emission nebulosity.

Since the SCA260 secondary mirror supports are at 45deg orientation from the RA and Dec axes, the star diffraction spikes are oriented 45deg from the edges of the frame.

The diffraction spike orientation didn't appeal to me, so in Revision B I cropped and rotated the original FOV to focus in on the blue reflection nebulae and use two bright star diffraction spikes as compositional elements.  I lost a huge amount of the FOV so I didn't make Rev B the final version.

Going forward I have changed the camera orientation by 45deg on this to achieve "properly" oriented star diffraction spikes!
