comet description doc

Old info.

The comet was taken after heavy rain around midnight, the sky cleared up, partly.

The frames were taken in-between clouds.

I used the 16" SCT / Atik Horizon camera to take 268x30sec Lum exposures of the comet, tracked on a nearby star.

In parallel I took 73x120sec color frames with WO FLT-110 refractor and the Canon 60Da camera.

These frames were also taken while tracking on a nearby star.

At the end of the session I took 16x60sec Lum frames tracked on the comet head.

I made several aligned stacks which were then combined in Photoshop CS6 to the final picture.

They were like this,

Aligned on stars and on the comet head (median stack), the color stack, 73x120sec.

Aligned on stars, 2x32x30sec and 268x30 sec lum frames.

Aligned on the comet head(median stacks), 16x60sec and 2x32x30ses and 92x30sec.

More details/evidence can be provided if needed/requested.

Durind the session/night, I had three nearby street lamps covered.

My home build observatory is placed in my front yard/in the "red light" polution zone, have a look here,

Red Zone

Kind regards Niels
