With NGC5905 and NGC5908 I finish the exploration of the celestial field to the east of the last curve of Draco constellation, near the star Edasich (iota Draconis). This part of the sky contains several very interesting galaxies. The nearest and most remarkable is NGC5907, the Splinter galaxy, a beautiful spiral galaxy seen in profile. It is about 40 million light years away and lies very close to the field of view of the two galaxies that give the title of this presentation. It can be partially seen in the top left-hand corner of the image. NGC5905 and NGC5908, are two gravitationally related spiral galaxies, seen from the front (NGC5905) and from the side (NGC5908). They are located more than 140 million light-years away from us, but are only separated by one fifth of the space between Andromeda and the Milky Way. Finally, in the vicinity of the three mentioned above is NGC5866, the Spindle galaxy, at a similar distance from the Milky Way as NGC5907 and visually similar to NGC5908 and M104 (the Sombrero galaxy).

Con NGC5905 y NGC5908 termino la exploración del campo celeste al este de la última curva de la constelación de Draco, cerca de la estrella Edasich (12 Draconis). Este lugar del cielo contiene varias galaxias muy interesantes. La más cercana y más notable es NGC5907, o galaxia de la Astilla, preciosa galaxia espiral vista de perfil, a unos 40 millones de años luz de nosotros. Se sitúa muy cerca del campo visual de las dos galaxias de este trabajo, tal y como se aprecia en la foto, en la que se incluye parcialmente. Las galaxias centrales de esta presentación, NGC5905 y NGC5908, son dos galaxias espirales ligadas gravitacionalmente, vistas de frente (NGC5905) y de perfil (NGC5908). Están situadas a más de 140 millones de años luz de nosotros, pero sólo separadas por la quinta parte del espacio que hay entre Andrómeda y la Vía Láctea. Por último, en las cercanías de las tres mencionadas, se encuentra NGC5866, la galaxia del Huso, a una distancia de la Vía Láctea similar a NGC5907 y de las mismas características que NGC5908 y M104 (la galaxia del Sombrero).
