Description

Not many options for widefield narrowband targets in January, so I opted for another go at the Rosette Nebula.  This time, I decided to also capture the HII region that snakes away from the main part of Rosette, giving it a wormhole appearance.  I opted for 10-minute exposures to go as deep as possible from my light polluted skies, but that pretty much put me at the limit with 5nm bandpass filters and Bortle 7+ skies.  I think I would have fared better from darker skies or even with 3nm filters...but dark skies are not easy to get to and those tight bandpass filters sure are expensive!
