Description

I took advantage of the warm sunny sky to hook up my ASI1600mm to a Baader Herschel Wedge, and Vixen ED81sw APO doublet refractor for some remarkable views of a very active sunspot region coming around the solar disk. Sunspot complex AR3293-3296 is "crackling with strong M-class solar flares" according to Space Weather --six of them today so far.  Spaceweather.com goes on to note, sunspot AR3293 has a weak 'delta-class' magnetic field that harbors energy for M-class solar flares, including a recent M7-class explosion today.

Shown on the image here, Sunspot AR3293 is the complex closest inward from the far NW region of the solar disk. There are supposedly 134 sunspots today, can you count them all? The upcoming Solar Maximum phase is definately presenting some fun solar observing.

This image is a combination of a top and bottom image stitched manually in Photoshop as close as I could. White light solar imaging seems to fool most AI algorithms that try to combine your images into a terrestial mosaic and this is far more extraterrestial! The stacks themselves are a 5% of the best frames out of the ASI1600MM, with an Astrodon Luminance filter, at 1920 * 1080, recorded for 1 min each (top and bottom) in RAW8, 0.051 Sec exposure, Gain at 100.

Title: Rotation for N and histogram balance

Description: Views of 3297, 3296 and 3293 are coming into view on the NW portion of the disk. These regions are producing many M-class solar flares.
