Description

Knowing 11pm to 1am would be a great time, I set up the Takahashi Mewlon 210 telescope in my Cudahy backyard, let it cool off all night and when it all started I had some fun trying different cams and combinations in mild weather which means I'll now have to process all of them!

Here's a look at the color version of Jupiter, with the Great Red Spot - a storm that is 10,159 miles wide, or 1.5 Earths, as taken on Nov 5 from my backyard just a few days after opposition. Jupiter's moon, Io, which is a rocky moon a little larger then our own Moon, is transiting across the surface of Jupiter and creating a shadow as seen here. Io is a rocky moon with a sulfur dioxide atmosphere.

I took one with a monochromatic camera the ZWO 178mm, showing Jupiter's moon Io and shadow, along with the Great Red Spot. I think the color version of this is looking good, so I'm curious to see how it processes out in comparison via the 462mc planetary camera.
