Nacreous Clouds over Lapland

Description

Rare nacreous / mother-of-pearl clouds over northern Finland from January 24th 2023. They usually occur a few times a year in places such as northern Scandinavia, Iceland, Greenland and Antarctic during the coldest months and are formed in altitude of around 15 - 25km.  They look a little bit like the more common iridescent clouds, but are not to be mixed with them. Sunrise/sunset are the best times for these, but a good display can be visible in daylight as well. It was the case for these, though in the photo the sun had just gone down and that's when the colors truly exploded. The pinks, blues and oranges were all visible to the eye.
