Description

Many nebula are clouds of gas that have yet to evolve into stars.

The Veil Nebula (NGC6960) is not that; it is the remnant of a supernova, a star that reached the end of its life-cycle and in its death left these filaments of gas in its wake.

The Veil Nebula is about 1,470 light-years from Earth in our own Milky Way galaxy in the constellation Cyngus the Swan.  It has a radius of about 50 light-years.
