Description

I thought I would try a very quick and dirty process on the Crescent nebula.  I used the weighted batch pre-processing tool in PixInsight to go all the way to creating master files, used linear fit on the RGB images and combined and then used the NBRGBcombination script to combine Ha and OIII.  No other processing apart from one curve adjustment in Photoshop and noise reduction in AI-Denoise.  It's not a very pretty result, but not bad for a practically zero-effort process.  Also, very little imaging time (?3 hours).

I think this is a really quick way of assessing the data you have before spending a lot of time in post processing.  In this case, I have nowhere near enough integration time (particularly on the OIII data) to create a decent image.  Here's to more clear skies on this target.

[Update]  I decided to use Starnet to remove the stars, which allowed me to boost the crescent and the red nebula.  I used deconvolution on the star mask to reduce them just a tad and added the stars back in.  Still a really quick fudge and the image looks better.  Still need more imaging time though.

[Update]  I decided to use stretched RGB image and Starnet v2 to create an RGB star mask and then create a starless HOO image using Starnet v2.  I then combined the two.  Much quicker and almost the same result.
