But living within easy reach of Bortle 3 locations compensates for the often poor weather when conditions are favourable.
Astronomy has been a passion of mine since a small child when I marvelled at the heavens. Sadly, through what seems to be the unending, inevitable advance of light pollution, those skies I was brought up viewing as a child continue to be lost to this generation and the ones to come. Travelling to dark sky locations is now a necessity to view and image the night sky in all its glory.
Try to fight the advance of light pollution where you live, and always remember to keep looking up. Clear skies!
