Description

This large galaxy is located 21 million light years away from our own Milky Way Galaxy. In other words, this image is showing us what this galaxy looked like 21 million years ago. It might look  different if you could see it in real time. It is incredible to think we could generate a detailed image from light that travelled across such a distance, passed our dense and turbulent atmosphere, and was still sufficiently bright enough to trigger a camera sensor attached to an inexpensive amateur telescope.
