Description

First light with the Svbony 550 122.
After searching to compare results, I didn't find much in the way of published results using this telescope.

The Eyes Galaxies - NGC 4438
Svbony 550 122mm with field flattener - FL683
Canon T5i - not modified for astrophotography; CLS filter
AVX, ZWO 30F4, ASI 120mini
40x2min subs @ ISO 800 for 1.3hrs imaging plus calibration frames

APT V4.50, SIRIL 1.2.1, Photoshop

I took advantage of a few clear hours last evening to continue to try and figure out this new telescope. I am starting to get it dialed. With the longer focal length than I am accustomed to, guiding is difficult and must be precise to maintain a sharp image. My two hours imaging was reduced to 1.3hrs data due to poor guiding - no 5min subs with this telescope until I get a better mount. It is remarkable the detail the big telescope can get with such a small amount of time on target!

The Eyes are centered in this image and part of Markarians Chain of galaxies, which I imaged recently and shared with the 102mm.
