Target Description:
This image certainly is a star-rick FOV: Over 100,000 stars were recognized by the Color Calibration tool in PI. Among that plethora of stars are two open clusters (NGC 869 and NGC 884) lying near one another in space-time coordinates. Both are about 7500 ly away and about 14B years old. They are traveling together, too: both are approaching the earth at about 38-39km/s. Each cluster displays over 300 young, blue O- and B-type stars. (Wikipedia)

Processing Description:
The background has a faint Ha nebula, and the faint reflection nebula is superimposed on it. Bringing out the tinge of those nebulae diminished the impact of the two clusters. Their presence is best seen in a simple grayscale image. Image B is a grayscale image made from the color image, with some smaller stars removed and the contrast adjusted.
