Description

Markarians Chain (top) with the Virgo Galaxy M87 (center bottom)

Svbony 503 102ED with field flattener - FL 571
Canon T5i - not modified for astrophotography
AVX, ZWO 30F4, ASI 120mini
45X5min subs at ISO 800 for 3.75hrs of imaging
Svbony CLS
SIRIL, Starnet, Photoshop
from my bortle 5 backyard

I continue to image in the Virgo cluster of galaxies. I have shot Markarians Chain previously, but this time I framed it differently. With the nights getting shorter, and the trees budding, my window of time and field of view is getting smaller and clouds cut into my imaging time. The bright members of the chain are visible through small telescopes. Larger telescopes can be used to view the fainter galaxies. On the top right, there appear the pair of interacting galaxies NGC 4438 and NGC 4435, about 50 million light-years away, known to some as Markarian's Eyes.

On a large screen, the faintest fuzzies observed are over 82million light years away - and photons emanated from them were captured in my backyard on my Canon T5i sensor.
