Description

NGC 5792 is a beautiful barred spiral galaxy about 70 million light-years away, in the northernmost sector of constellation Libra, wedged between Serpens Caput and Virgo.
The 9.67 magnitude UCAC4 445-059287 star is in front of the galaxy. Apparently, NGC5792 has an elliptic ring surrounding the internal spiral structure
It is a member of the Virgo III Groups, a series of galaxies and galaxy clusters placed to the east of the Virgo Supercluster, see picture below.
I took several hours of Ha signal, that was totally useless, as it was not different from red channel. It is not counted in the exposure time presented in the technical data. Probably the star forming areas are smaller than the resolution achieved here.

Among the many background galaxies, PGC53383, close to the lower right corner, which is placed at a Hubble distance of 87 Mly.
