Description

Here's a widefield view of the light and dark nebulosity surrounding Rho Ophiuchi, Antares and nearby stars, taken from a very dark site in eastern Mendocino County, California. No filters were used and the colors are more or less straight from the camera, except the reflection nebula around Rho Oph came out a little greener than I intended. The density of stars in this field makes processing a bit of a challenge; both StarXTerminator and StarNet2 do weird things to the colors of stars with colorful nebulas behind them. I plan to go back and reprocess it without separating the stars and see how things look.
