Description

The much imaged NGC1499 California Nebula processed in 2 ways.  A traditional SHO palette and a version of a "Winter in California".

The OIII signal is much weaker than the SII which really surprised me and was quite the challenge to process.  I love how the gases really start looking wispy and this nebula has what look like "opposite bok globules" making a little paw print.  What appears to be a shadow of a gas cloud acting like a crepuscular ray does on Earth.  And this little galaxy peaking through the dust!  That galaxy is LEDA 5060601 and is a Active Galaxy Nucleus Candidate.
