Hi, I am Vitaly from Dusseldorf, Germany.
Since I was a child of 10 I was super fascinated by the astronomy topic. Re-read several times the collection of all my astronomy encyclopedias.
During my school times I was befriended with my Physics teachers and this gave the opportunity to use school's telescopes at home. They were not so powerful but it was that time when I saw disks of Saturn, Jupiter and Venus for the first time. It was an amazing first experience!
At the University I was participating in several astronomy events but also prepared a term paper. It was about 2 interacting stars, me tried to model their intertwining gravitational fields using the Maple software. Building a Hertzsprung-Russell-Diagram on a basis of a star catalogue was also a great deal of fun for me 😉
My first own telescope was the TAL-120 from Novosibirsk's NPZ, a very robust but also of a good quality setup. I was able to view the closest Mars opposition in 2003 with it, transition of Mercury over the Sun disk the same year and several Lunar and Solar eclipses the next years.
Since September 2021 I am a happy owner of the 🔭 Celestron Advanced VX 8" SCT - which I definitely can call a very versatile.
It proves to be a good scope for imaging planets but also many deep sky objects which should not be larger that the full Moon.
