Description

Lune mozaique 10 mars 2022

==================================================================================
Ladies and gentlemen of the night,

Rather unusual but here is a quite recent mosaic of the Moon of the 10th March 2022. It was a miraculous week with 5 nights (and even days) without a single cloud. The miracle was reproduced this week even better with 7 nights. But let’s come back to this picture.
It consists of 46 tiles. It was shoot directly without any barlow behind a maksutov 180/2700 with my QHY290 III.
In order to shoot all the tiles rapidly and in the limit of 50 GB, I put the camera in bin2 and limit the amount to 1.4 GB per movie. Then In AS3! I select resample x2, use ICE for building the mosaic, used AstroSurface for post processing and Gimp.
The version A is a mix with the original processed with AstroSurface and Gimp for the HDR Mantiuk 2006 and also some painting.
The version B is a reprocessing in AstroSurface using equilize histogram and local contrast that give in my opinion a nicer rendering. Also I updated the forground to not be a pure black.
It's not perfect but should be OK if printed on a 30x20 cm

This night, I also shoot close up of few craters and walled plains in bin1 that I may publish later. See below

Hope we will enjoy the full.

Clear and bright sky,

Xavier.

Voir ci-dessous

J’espère que la full vous plaira.

Bon ciel clair,

Xavier.
