Description

The Heart Nebula, IC 1805, is an emission nebula in the constellation Cassiopeia. At about 7500 light years away, the glowing hydrogen gas an dark dust lanes surround the central young stars of the open cluster Melotte 15. A few of these bright stars are nearly 50 times the mass of our Sun.

I started this image in late August outside Denver and then finally got the chance to finish at the end of September while on vacation in Central Colorado. Here is my version of the Heart Nebula:
