Description

On 06.05.2021 I imaged a wide field of galaxies in the constellation Coma Berenices. When I platesolved the image I found an interesting guest - an Asteroid! My first Asteroid!

Here is what I was able to find about the object on the web:

- name: 691 Lehigh;

- discovered in: 1909

- discovered by: Rev. Joel Metcalf, an amateur astronomer in Taunton, Mass.

- named on: Lehigh University in the USA by John H. Ogburn and Joseph B. Reynolds who got the right to name the Asteroid in exchange of the estimation of its properties.

- visual magnitude: +14.8;

- size: 88 kilometers;

- orbit around the SUN: 5.2 years;

- average distance from the SUN - 3.0 AU - between Mars and Jupiter;

The image is a GIF from my frames - 49*120 secs or 1 hour and 38 minutes.
