Description

Imaged Jupiter on the night of October 29, 2022 (August 30th in UTC) under average seeing and transparency.  The great red spot was visible during this capture (my first sight of it for 2022 and always a joy), as well as Jupiter's moons Ganymede and Io.

Imaged with a C8 Evo, ZWO ADC, Baader UV-IR Cut filter, and ZWO ASI224MC. Imaging train was configured to give me ~F/20. Image capture using Firecapture with gain set at 375 and an exposure of 3 ms. Stacking in AutoStakkert3 (best 20% of ~7500 frames captured over 180 seconds). Color balancing and Wavelet sharpening in Registax6.

Original version:  Jupiter, Ganymede, and Io

Rev B:  Image of Jupiter generated by derotating and combining two sub images using Winjupos
