Description

Exhilirating to see all of the small craters of Mare Serenatis showing up on this view of the waning Moon. Here's a mid-level zoom along the terminator, which is casting it's shadows along the feature-rich junction between Mare Serenatis and Mare Imbrium. The Montes Caucasus cut a swathe between the two Mare's with a small gap in between them and the Montes Apenninus, which really accentuates the contrast between everything rough, jagged and mountainous and the smooth lava flooded Mare's. A measure of how well I can capture this area is always how defined the meandering walls of Hadley Rille show up and they show up pretty well here. Plus I managed to write all of that myself from my ever growing understanding of the Lunar surface without having to resort to ChatGPT for help composing 😁
