Un altro pò di integrazione della ripresa dell'8 maggio.

Ma ora basta con l'ASI385MC !

Ieri sera è stato impossibile riprendere con questa camera ic5070 e ngc6823.

Una OSC non va bene per questi oggetti (a meno di non usare filtri dual o tri-band).

Va bene per galassie o ammassi globulari (e qualche luminosa nebulosa a emissione), ma per oggetti che emettono in H alfa o in OIII ci vuole una camera mono con filtri in banda stretta.

E' iniziata la stagione delle nebulose estive e quindi l'ASI385MC lascerà il posto all'Atik414EXm e alla Moravian G2-8300 con ruota portafiltri e filtri a banda stretta.

Quando il gioco si fa duro, i duri comiciano a giocare ...

But now enough with the ASI385MC !

Last night this camera was unable to shoot ic5070 and ngc6823.

An OSC is not good for these objects (unless you use dual or tri-band filters).

Ok for galaxies or globular clusters (and with some rare exceptions also for the bright emission nebulae), but for objects that emit in H alpha and OIII a mono camera with narrow band filters is required.

The summer nebulae season has started and therefore the ASI385MC will give way to Atik414EXm and Moravian G2-8300, with filter wheel and narrow band filters.

When the going gets tough, the tough get going ...

Views by Submitters (available since September 19th, 2023) Every image is assigned to 50% of available Submitters. In the event that at least 80% of them don't view the image before its time in the IOTD/TP process expires, it's assigned to the other 50% of Submitters and the process begins anew.
Promotions by Submitters When 3 distinct Submitters promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for Top Pick status. This requirement, in addition to anonymization of images and distribution to only a subset of them, prevents biases and ensures that the best images are selected.
Promotions by Reviewers When 3 distinct Reviewers promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for IOTD status.
Early dismissal Staff members have a lot of images to inspect on a daily basis, and they can dismiss images if they believe they don't meet the requirements for IOTD/TP selection. If an image is dismissed 5 times, it's removed from the process. This streamlines the process and ensures that any bias present in promotions could be overruled by other staff members.
