Description

The recovery of the Copernicus and Eratosthenes craters. At the time of the formation of Copernicus, an enormous amount of material from the lunar soil, fragmented by the impact of the meteorite, was ejected upwards, the fallout forming the myriad of small craters that surround the crater itself. Note the impact ray. The slight saturation of the colors highlights the areas adjacent to the Copernicus crater that are darker and richer in titanium.
