Description

This is a mosaic of about 20 panels assembled and post processed with Photoshop cs5. The images were captured through a Celestron Edge HD 8 and a modified Canon 450D in live view mode. Capture software was BackyardEOS. Each panel is composed of the best 10% of 300 images processed with Autostakkert. The images were captured over several nights as the terminator moved in an attempt to get the best contrast. I had hoped to do a full disc mosaic as the moon waxed, but time and weather conspired to defeat that project. I learned a great deal with this effort. After I sharpened the image I noticed several seams issues that were not evident pre-sharpening, so I will definitely alter my workflow to look for those issues if I do this again. I am unsure the results are worth the time and effort versus just taking a wider field of view with a larger chip camera.
First effort, comments and suggestions welcome.
Thanks, Darrell
