Description

NGC 1952 (Crab Nebula)

This is my first real attempt at astrophotography (I took a screenshot of the moon a couple of months ago...) and first time imaging a deep space object.

I used Skytools 4 Imaging to try to figure out which targets might be good for my setup and imaging night. I'm still having problems with the meridian flip, which prevented me from capturing more exposures.

All of that said, I was very happy with the tracking I was able to get at 180' exposures with my AVX mount and 8SE with the Celestron off-axis guider & Lodestar X2. From reading forum posts I was concerned that the AVX wouldn't be able to pull it off.
