Hi all, I am a graduate student and data scientist from the Los Angeles area.
I received my first real telescope (Celestron 8SE) as a gift last year and quickly caught the astrophotography bug. Learning the ropes on the stock Nexstar Alt-Az mount and with my family's DSLR (though I am upgrading soon to an EQ6R-Pro on Losmandy tripod - excited to see what that unlocks for me).
My current setup: 8SE (typically with 0.63 focal reducer) Nexstar 6/8SE Alt-Az mount Canon60D Aquisition with NINA, Processing with SIRIL and GIMP
Excited to progress in this hobby and learn from this great community (though my wallet is not).
Clear skies!

Sounds like you are having a blast!
Nice images!
I remember how exciting it was when I began having fun imaging the night sky. Still exciting, but a different kind of excitement.
Good luck and looking forward to seeing your images. Welcome!
Jim

Jim Thank you! It can be pretty daunting scrolling through galleries such as yours, but reminds me how much I have yet to learn and keeps the excitement/motivation going!
