Greetings, I'm new here, so just introducing myself. I think I've got the bones for standing up a dual rig for summer imaging, consisting of two identical 81mm APO doublets (Vixen ED81s wt), and I could use a few confirming tips. Some general questions below I'm looking to confirm:
  1. If I have the ZWO ASI 071mc pro and the ZWO 1600 mm pro, would this be a fairly well matched duo to place on the scopes for HA through the mono cam + OSC color RGB at the same time? I rarely get streaks of clear nights, so I'd want to image the same target and get the most of the time. Since I'd have two identical scopes, and picked up the mono cam recently on deep clearance, I'm hopeful this'll be a good duo.

  2. I'm hoping to put both on to a Skywatcher EQ-6r Pro, using an Orion dual saddle narrow vixen. However, should I plan on getting a fine adjustment saddle base for one of the scopes as well, or just switch to Losmandy or some other base saddle for better performance?

  3. I have ASIair-pro, but am considering switch to Nina. In any event, can I run both rigs from the same computer? If so, I assume if I slew that the guider will be connected to one pairing, so it's likely I'll drop frames in the second scope right? I'm okay with that, but I'd likely make that my HA acquisition scope then.

  4. For processing, is it just stacking the HA channel separately from the OSC camera, with separate bias, darks, flats. Then replace the red channel from the OSC with the HA data in processing? Could use a few pointers there to prep for summer imaging season.

Also, happy to be part of the group - looking forward to seeing some processing techniques in action.

psychwolf,

All great questions.

We deployed ADM SBS system and TGAD saddle to achieve the alignment in between the two scopes.
