That's up to you - if you were running f/11 optics or shooting 3nm NB from the darkest skies or if you can't get long exposures due to mount issues it might make sense.

Thanks for the tables - so if I read it correctly, best is Gain 100 and HCG as it manages both low read noise (second graph) and high dynamic range? What about 150 or 200 gain (lower read noise) and slightly lower dynamic range?

Note that the axis on that full well graph is logarithmic: you do get significantly more dynamic range in LCG (from memory I think it's about 57k full well in LCG and around 15k in HCG). I tend to use LCG for imaging anything broadband with high contrast (M42 for eaxmple, or objects with bright stars in the field) and HCG for lower contrast nebulae and galaxies, especially if there aren't too many bright stars around. I'll also be using HCG when I get my NB filters.
