How do I classify the Optolong Quad filter in Astro Pixel Processor when stacking? Aries Productions Astro Pixel Processor (APP) · DavesView · ... · 12 · 518 · 3

I'm stacking multiple nights with a luminance filter for two nights and the Optolong Quad filter for the other two nights. The dilemma I'm having is when choosing filters and multi-session, I can only choose one filter from the choices for a set of lights. What should I pick for the set using the quad filter? Or, should I even choose the filters option and just stack them as session 1 through 4?

Stack 'em up and be done with it. No faffing around with filter labels.

You should treat it as if you had no filter since that's the intent of this filter.

Thanks! I wasn't sure if APP treated them differently when stacking. And thanks Andrea. Keep me from faffing up. LOL

In raw you'll need to select Ha-OIII color for example.

Not the same filter, but I often use an L'Extreme.  I just let APP choose based on file header. I assume it defaults to RGB.  Regardless, end results are good.

Since the sensor only registers RGB there is a limit to what can be extracted anyhow. Ha is from red and Oiii is from blue + green and S is from ?...

Same here. I also use the eXtreme and have done the same with it. Going to give Brian's and Henk_Jan's suggestion a go. Makes sense.

Yes, interesting technique.

I would like to process an image each way and see the difference.

The APP Forum already has information on this topic.  Take a look at this thread:
