| I'm confused as to which version of the ALP-T you have? There's one that captures the Ha and OIII emissions similar to the Optolong L-Extreme and a comparision would be warranted. That being said, Antlia also has a variation of the ALP-T that captures the SII and Hb emissions, but I'm not aware of a variation of the L-extreme that does this, so I'm unsure how you would compare the two. |

| I don't have any issue with the filter. Maybe you see the red channel overexposed because in more emission nebulas Ha is the strongest wavelength |

Here is a good example. (Note, both look bad) but I applied a heavy crop. Both had the same imaging time and processing But the 2nd one you can see the lop left is more blown out. The top one using the L Extreme is not as bad. This happened with the Flaming Star Nebula and the rosette nebula, both also having strong O3 signals.   |

So the filters are slightly different in regards to bandwidth. The l-extreme is a 7nm's in the Ha and OIII and the ALP-T is 5nm's bandwidth. I'm wondering if this would increase the contrast of the ALP-T image as the background would be slightly darker. I've owned both filters and hands down I would keep the ALP-T over the L-extreme. The halo's around bright stars with the l-extreme could be challenging to minimize. |

You'll never be overexposed in the S2 channel not with this filter or any filter OSC or mono You'll always be clipping on stars when using duo narrowband on OSC |

I think the Antlia has a better contrast here and the other reason to think of too much red signal would be your own monitor? Is it a calibrated monitor or a Gaming Monitor with a gaming mode to pop colours? I was looking at your photos and I can see you're using the Antlia ALP-T Highspeed filter with an f/7 refractor. You should better use the non highspeed version with that, as the highspeed variant is for f/2-f/3.6 optics. |
