What SAFE sources are available to download images (lights, darks, flats, biases) so I can practice with my Siril and Gimp software?

Generous of you. I’m new to the sport so don’t even know what to ask for. I think I should start with one target and if I can handle it go for a second. What do you suggest?

Here you go:
https://erellaz.com/moana/open-datasets/
120G of dataset, over a year, from a remote observatory, in a very dark site.
Completely free, no registration, no advertisement.
So far 6 of those datasets have made it to Astrobin top pick.

There's also lots of data available on Astrobiscuit's Discord Server, in the "Share your Data" section:

https://astrobiscuit.com/discord/

Quality of the data shared varies a lot but there are sometimes real gems with 80+ hours of integration

Blackrig's data is definitely worth having a look, I have processed some of the datasets myself, very goodc quality!

Occasionally I post some of my data sets on Astrobiscuit discord as well for folks.    I have a few to share, but not all are converted for use outside of pixinsight.    Here is one however....     Ced51

Here's the final image:

It's a challenging HaRGB dataset, no doubt.   If you're interested, you will find more of my stuff following that discord link above.

Strange... Malwarebytes is thinking there is a virus somewhere and stopped me from downloading anything.

My enterprise antivirus does not find any issues... After all, it is a Wordpress site with zipped fits files and many Astrobinners have downloaded and processed them without complaints (as far as I am aware of).

You can also try the Astro Imaging Channel workshops on their website. Some finest dataset is available for anyone to process. Other option - though slightly complicated to navigate - is HST data. All data from Hubble is public and can be downloaded. The difficulty is to search for data set that would be fun to work with from AP point of view. In anycase, by just doing that you learn a lot about fabulous HST and it's workings. I have not seen it personally but JWST too should have its data publically available. Here on AB, there are few users who frequently convert scientific grade data to fabulous images. Not on astrobin but one name which I can recommend is Judy Schmidt. You should Google her. The internet will claim she is an amateur astronomer but a LOT of NASA public images come from her.
