Description

Abell 1367 is a Galaxy clustzer in Leo. The biggest galaxy is NGC 3842. The inner core of this galaxy is only 1,4 x 1,0 arcmin. Left side is UGC 6697 which has deformed spiral arms by tidal forces. The whole group is in a distance of 380 Mio Lj. NGC 3842 is the outcome of the merger of several galaxies and has a mass of about 10 Billion stars. Consequently the central black hole is supermassive and about 2500 times the black hole of our milky way!

There are a lot of interacting galaxies in the field of view. Within 1 degree radius are 166 galaxies which belong to Abell 1367.

It would be interesting to go with long focal length into the center of this galaxy cluster! To see most of them you have to zoom in! Enjoy
