Description

NGC 1333 is a reflection nebula in the constellation of Perseus. This very active star forming region is located about 1000 light years away and is about 1.75 X 0.9 light years in size. It's part of the Perseus molecular cloud. The darkest areas around this nebula are dark clouds of dust and soot obscuring much of the stars contained within this nebula, while starlight reflecting from outside of the nebula illuminate the surface of the dusty cloud.
