Description

These are a couple of interesting Galaxies in Canes Venatici. NGC 5005 is a 9.7 mag. Spiral Galaxy that lies 70 million light years away. X-ray observations imply that it contains a supermassive black hole in it's center.

NGC 5033 is another Spiral Galaxy that lies closer, at 37 million light years. It is a 10th mag. sprawling spiral galaxy with thick arms.

NGC 5002 and NGC 5014, both in the top right quadrant of this image, are a 14.6 mag. Spiral Galaxy, and a 12.8 Mag. Spiral Galaxy . Lying 40 million and 21 million light years away.

Captured at the dark site Bortle 4. Had a great time with my two imaging friends. Nothing like talking and laughing with like minded astronomy friends under the peaceful dark skies!

Noticed my backspacing is a bit off. Or I had some tilt in the imaging train. Ughhh! But it is what it is.

Seeing 8/10
