Description

I am running some test, not finished yet, of my new set up, a GSO 10" f/4 Newtonian telescope. The equipment have been sited in my obs for more than a year, I was buying components during that time, one thing is to get the telescope and another...to get the rest of the stuff. So I am near to complete. I decided to do a try on the moon, and this is the first image that comes out. As I did mention, there are a lot of things still to do, better collimation and, doing all the cabling, as you can see in here, they are still hanging out from the structure and going nowhere for the moment. Additionally I have to get used to the focuser...
As a test I did try to focus on the two wrinkles of the moon's surface, Dorsa Aldrovandi and Smirnov, in the serpentive ridge..
Also near Arago and Theophilus craters are a lot of wrinkles, as you can see them from the full resolution image.
Finally, the processing is a conventional one, selecting the best 5% from Autostakkert, followed by RegiStax 6, with a final touch in GIMP.
