Description

Cataloged as Sh2-129 and Ou4 respectively, this dynamic duo is quite captivating especially since the Squid Nebula was only discovered about 13 years ago by an astrophotographer (Nicolas Outters).

This was a difficult target to process since the Ha is so prominent while the Oiii is so faint and we’re using a color cam with a dual narrowband filter. This data was captured late last summer and is the best we could do to bring out the squid without capturing a ton more data with our limited narrowband capabilities.
